IDeAl at ISCB 2016 in Birmingham

IDeAl researchers present their latest results at the conference of the International Society of Clinical Biostatistics in Birmingham 2016. Topics range from Extrapolation (Kathrin Möllenhoff, Gerald Hlavin), to Adaptive Designs (Franz König), N-of-One-Designs (Stephen Senn) to Randomization (Ralf-Dieter Hilgers, David Schindler, Marcia Rückbeil) and Randomization Based Inference in the presence of missing values (Nicole Heussen) and Selection Bias (Diane Uschner). Tanja Berger shows her research on values below a lower limit of quantification both in a poster and a presentation at the Student’s Day. Their research stimulates fruitful discussions with stakeholders from research and industry.

Ralf-Dieter Hilgers publishes paper on new developments for small population group trials

With his colleagues Kit Roes and Nigel Stellard, Prof. Ralf-Dieter Hilgers published a precedent-setting paper on methodology for small population group trials. The paper “Directions for new developments on statistical design and analysis of small population group trials” addresses the challenges presented by the EMA/CHMP guideline and discusses recent developments in extrapolation. It was issued in the Orphanet Journal of Rare Diseases, and can be accessed here.

IDeAl at mODa11

Ralf-Dieter Hilgers (WP2), David Schindler (WP2) and Kirsten Schorning (WP3) represent IDeAl at the conference mODa11 in Hamminkeln-Dingden on 12-17 June. The Workshops on Model-Oriented Data Analysis and Optimum Design (mODa) provide a high-level international forum for researchers, professionals and practitioners to present and discuss recent advances, new techniques and applications in the field of optimum experimental design. William F. Rosenberger and Rosemary Bailey from the IDeAl External Advisory Board disseminate IDeAls latest results at the workshops.

According to the PerMed Conference website, the Personalised Medicine Conference 2016 will explore personalised medicine through a research policy lens. Furthermore, the conference aims to showcase the current state of the art in the area and explore future research and innovation challenges. With their participation, Ralf-Dieter Hilgers and Nicole Heussen can shape the developments of personalized medicine and integrate the IDeAl perspective.

Ralf-Dieter Hilgers talks about randomization at GMU

IDeAl coordinator Prof. Ralf-Dieter Hilgers gives a talk on Friday, 22nd of April, at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia, USA. In his talk, Ralf-Dieter Hilgers, will advocate that a scientific evaluation must precede the choice of a randomization procedure, analogously to e.g. sample size calculation. He gives a framework for the clinical scenario evaluation of randomization procedures and presents his latest results.
